Born in Cardiff, Melanie Ahmed is an artist who lives and works in London. She received a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Exeter College of Art and Design in 1992 and later completed an MA in Museum and Gallery Management. After working in collections management, she retrained in primary education and now combines her art practice with teaching.

Recent exhibitions include Commonality, a two-person exhibition with Sarah Lord at Joseph Wales Gallery, Margate (2026), and Subject Object, a group exhibition at Terrace Gallery, London, which she curated and exhibited in (2026). In October 2026, she will exhibit with Talking Sculpture Making at Margate School of Art Gallery.

Group exhibitions include Support Systems at 15/16 Sands End, Fulham (2025); Abstract at Fronteer Gallery, Sheffield (2025); Pieces of Me at ArtWorks East, London (2025); Colour Me In at Pictorem Gallery (2024); Nudge It and It Rose and It Fell at Terrace Gallery (2024); Forces of the Small at Filet Gallery (2024); and The Fronteer Open at Fronteer Gallery, Sheffield (2024). She was selected for the Winter Group Show at Linden Hall Studio, Deal, in 2025 and 2026.

Her work is held in private collections in the UK.
